RUSSIA: POWER MACHINES MANUFACTURED AND COMPLETED THE SHIPMENT OF THE HYDROGENERATOR FOR THE THIRD HYDROPOWER UNIT UNDER CONSTRUCTION OF UST-SREDNEKANSKAYA HPP.

After manufacturing and testing the generator was disassembled for further transportation by rail. The equipment was located in more than 50 rail cars. The railroad train is going to proceed to the seaport of Vladivostok. Further, the equipment is to be transported by boat to Magadan, from where the automotive transport will deliver it to the HPP construction site until the end of May this year.

The contract to manufacture and supply the hydraulic equipment for the third hydropower unit of Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP was signed between OJSC Power Machines and PJSC RusHydro in 2014. In accordance with its terms OJSC Power Machines is to supply Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP with the hydro turbine of 142.5 MW capacity, generator complete with the excitation system and automated control system (ACS) of the hydropower unit. It is planned that delivering the scope of supply for all equipment will have been completed by the end of 2016, and commissioning of the hydropower unit No. 3 of Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP in 2018.

At the moment the hydraulic engineers continue to work on on mounting the embedded parts of hydro-unit No. 3 under the guidance of Power Machines experts. After the mounting and concreting have been completed, installation of the hydro turbine major components commences: impeller and guide vane.

The Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP is using two hydro-units: No. 1 and No. 2 manufactured and delivered in early 2000-ies by Power Machines.

Hydro-unit No. 3 is the first machine at Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP, where the permanent impeller is to be installed. The temporary impellers are installed on the first two hydropower units designed for low pressure within the range from 24 to 46 m. Thus, after the launch of the third hydropower unit it is going to be possible to provide joint operation of interchangeable impellers of the first start-up complex and standard impeller of the third machine.

The commissioning of NPP enables to implement large infrastructure projects in the Magadan region. In addition, the hydropower plant will contribute to navigation regulating the Kolyma River flow. New power capacities are going to reduce imported fuel consumption and provide reasonable electricity tariffs by reducing its production costs. (power-m.ru)
