Antitank missile systems “Corsar” and “Stugna” – produced by UKROBORONPROM SE “Kyiv design bureau “Luch” –will strengthen security and protect soldiers on the front line. This was stated by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the display and demonstrative shots of missiles and artillery at the proving ground of the military unit (Divychky village).
Arms and military equipment of UKROBORONPROM production was represented by Director General Roman Romanov. The event was attended by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine General Stepan Poltorak, Chief of the General Staff and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko and other officials.
“Active use of modern means of artillery reconnaissance at the forefront will enhance safety and protection of our soldiers. Artillery – the God of War – proved its importance in providing the victory for Ukraine for the last two years. The domestic defense industry developed advanced anti-tank missiles, mortars of various calibers, precision artillery projectiles and so on, “- said the Supreme Commander of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
Reconnaissance-strike complex, consisting of a platoon of self-propelled guns 2S7, – equipped with the system “KRIP” – and diverse reconnaissance means with practical fire tasks fulfillment were used on the firing line. Reconnaissance-strike complex consisting of a battery of self-propelled howitzers 2C1 (practical fire tasks fulfillment) was demonstrated in action; target localization was performed by the radar station (AN / TPQ-36). Destructive fire control was demonstrated using tactical multifunctional unmanned aircraft system “Furia.”
The President of Ukraine personally gave the military a new batch of mortar “Molot,” produced by UKROBORONPROM. 80-mm mortar and grenade launcher KBA-117; new modification of infantry fighting vehicle BMP-1 – UM; prototypes of command vehicle 1V26-2 SDB of the Complex “Obolon” and modernized BM-21 “Verba”; small arms of JSC “Mayak” and SC “Ukroboronservis” production; new multifunctional unmanned aircraft system “Anser”, presented by SFTE “Spetstehnoeksport,” were demonstrated to Petro Poroshenko.
In 2015 UKROBORONPROM fulfilled the state defence order significantly ahead of the schedule. In 2016 UKROBORONPROM is developing the strategy “Ukrainian shield,” focused on high-tech production, transition to international standards (NATO) and supplying the army with modern types of armaments.
In the 1st quarter of 2016 UKROBORONPROM made a record five hundred weapons and military equipment: 340 units of new weapons, domestic drones, latest mortars, rockets and armored vehicles, and 161 unit of repaired and modernized weapons and military equipment.
